The Atlanta Braves announced today a refreshed and renewed partnership with Georgia Power as the organization moves into its new home at SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta. Georgia Power, the state’s leading electric utility serving 2.5 million customers, has been the Official Energy Partner of the Braves since 1966.
The Georgia Power and Atlanta Braves partnership includes:
- Charging up at the game. 61 EV charging stations inside parking decks as well as a Georgia Power community charging island
- Powerful entertainment. Georgia Power Pavilion, a stage that will be used for pre and postgame events, including concerts. The Georgia Power Pavilion is located in the Plaza between the Omni Hotel and Comcast office building in The Battery Atlanta.
- Two iconic brands making a difference. Unified in a commitment to give back to the community, Georgia Power will also be an Official Community Partner and work with the Atlanta Braves to execute a community program during the season.
“As part of our commitment to make SunTrust Park environmentally friendly, we’re thrilled to partner with Georgia Power to offer electric charging stations for our eco-conscious fans and use all LED lighting as part of our power reduction initiative,” said Derek Schiller, Braves president, business. “These stations, along with the new Georgia Power Pavilion will only continue to make our ballpark and The Battery Atlanta a premier sports and entertainment destination with something for everyone.”
“Georgia Power and the Atlanta Braves share a rich history of tradition in Atlanta and we are proud to continue our partnership with Georgia’s hometown baseball team,” said Paul Bowers, Georgia Power chairman, president & CEO. “SunTrust Park is an incredible recreational facility for Atlantans and for millions of visitors driving economic growth and employment. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Braves for decades to come in their new home.”
Georgia Power also provided all fans with a free magnetic schedule gate giveaway on April 15 and 16 during the Braves’ Opening Weekend celebrations.
