The 42nd Annual Georgia Veterans Day Parade will be taking place in Midtown Atlanta this year. Our 2023 route will wind down the iconic Peachtree Street from 15th Street to 5th Street. There are many areas to view the parade and plenty of restaurants to dine at once the parade is over.  It’s not too late to join the festivities with your parade entry – please go to link, https://www.georgiaveteransday.org/parade

We are excited to host our annual Observance Ceremony inside of the Woodruff Arts Center in the Azadi Galleria. In addition to this beautiful new venue space, we will be hosting the ceremony at 0930hrs (9:30am) prior to the start of the parade at 1100hrs (11:00am). This will allow attendees and participants the opportunity to attend the ceremony before the Georgia Veterans Day Parade.

Our Veterans Festival will now be known as the Veterans Day Expo to better outline its mission and purpose. The Expo will be open from 0900-1300 (9:00am to 1:00pm), so please visit our assembled booths and learn more about the capabilities of our network of Veterans Service Organizations and GVDA partners. For additional education and engagement, we will also feature Korean cultural displays and presentations at the Expo.

Each year, GVDA selects a special group of veterans to pay special honors to.  The theme for this year’s events will be “Korean War | Korea Defense | ROK-US Alliance” and honors the strong bond between the United States and the Republic of Korea. During the Korean War from 1950-1953 and in the decades since, our two nations have worked together to ensure safety on the Korean Peninsula and provided a security presence in the region. On 27 July 2023, we celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the Armistice to end the Korean War. This cease-fire still exists, and no formal peace agreement has been signed by either side.

We will honor our Korean War Veterans and the 3.3 million servicemembers who have served in the Republic of Korea over the last seven decades.  This unprecedented day of events will educate the public on the ROK-US Alliance, honor the men and women who saved and preserved South Korea, and showcase how vital their service was to the success the Republic of Korea enjoys today.

We want to remind everyone to buy your tickets to the 2023 Freedom Ball today! Not only will our military program honor all Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers, but we will also recognize our Korean War Veterans. With this year’s lineup of speakers and entertainment, you won’t want to miss this wonderful gala. This annual black-tie event is always well attended, so we have added additional tables this year to meet the demand.
