Entrepreneurship Series

SelectCobb’s Entrepreneurship & Small Business Series aims to provide a blend of meaningful programming that will encourage a thriving environment for minority entrepreneurs and business owners in Cobb. The Entrepreneurship & Small Business Series developed out of the Entrepreneurship Committee’s desire to engage with entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses of all backgrounds and industries in Cobb County and connect them to meaningful education, networking, and mentorship opportunities.

Programs have included mixers for minority entrepreneurs, and speaker events on topics such as cybersecurity and securing contracts.

Industry Councils

Developed from our first Workforce Development Study in 2015, four industry clusters including Advanced Manufacturing, Technology, Healthcare & Bioscience, and Construction & Trades, were identified as high-demand career sectors – industries in which the need for skilled talent is most deeply felt. In 2020, a fifth Industry Cluster, Logistics & Supply Chain, was added to the list as a response to our ever changing workforce needs. Each Industry Council meets annually to engage in focused conversations that impact the short and long term workforce needs in each area. Industry Councils are a great way for SelectCobb investors to engage with other investors, industry leaders and our education partners.
