First Data subsidary TASQ Technology is setting up a new operation on Canton Road.
TASQ Technology will hire about 350 local residents over the next 18 months as the company consolidates and moves to Marietta.
The provider of point-of-sale equipment is closing its two California offices and the company’s Kennesaw location and moving to a 266,000-square-foot building on Canton Road, near Interstate 75. A company spokesman said 350 new hires are expected and the roughly 145 Kennesaw workers will likely relocate.
Atlanta has emerged as the top center for Internet financial transaction businesses, with more than half of America’s daily electronic transfers happening here.
The Georgia Department of Economic Development served as the lead, and was supported by MAC’s economic development division, City of Marietta, Cobb County and Georgia Power Company.
