Small Business Saturday – Support Small Businesses

Nov. 26 marks the second annual Small Business Saturday, a day to support the local businesses that creates jobs, boosts the economy and preserves neighborhoods around the country.

Small Business Saturday was created in 2010 by founding its sponsor, American Express. Support of the event reached across the US to more than 1.5 million Facebook users, 130 small business advocate groups, public and private organizations and government leaders. Media coverage reached an audience of more than half of a billion as consumers rallied across the country. This year is going to be even bigger, with more than 170 small business advocacy organizations already signed up to help with outreach and build excitement for Small Business Saturday 2011.

Small Business Saturday is supported with national advertising and public relations highlighting the importance of supporting small businesses and driving consumers to shop at small businesses on Nov. 26. You can also visit facebook.com/smallbusinesssaturday to join the initiative, give a shout out to your favorite local stores and restaurants and pledge to shop at small businesses on Nov. 26, 2011!
