This year, America will be celebrating its 237th birthday. To celebrate, many Cobb cities and Chamber members are hosting Fourth of July events! Due to heavy rain in the forecast, some cities have already issued event cancellations and postponements. We’ve rounded up a festive list of events for your family, just check your city’s website before you go—Mother Nature is doing her best to put a damper on the fun.
The City of Marietta’s Fourth of July celebration will begin at 10 a.m. with the Marietta Freedom Parade. At 2 p.m. the national bell ringing will occur. The arts and crafts show will be an all-day event and fireworks will start after sunset!
Due to the weather, Acworth has rescheduled its Fourth of July celebration for July 19 at 5 p.m. with fireworks beginning at sunset! The “Love the Lake” concert set for the fourth has also been rescheduled.
Kennesaw has cancelled its Fourth of July celebrations: “Picnic for Fireworks” and “Salute to America” on July 3. Check the event pages to see when the events has been rescheduled!
Six Flags Over Georgia will celebrate the Fourth of July with its patriotic fireworks display on July 4. Fireworks begin after nightfall. Admission is free with park admission.
Stars and Strikes is celebrating the Fourth of July with their “Let Freedom Roll” event! Go in anytime on the fourth and receive two free games per person.
Zoo Atlanta is opening its newest water play experience, “The Splash Fountain,” on the Fourth of July! This experience features 18 water jets in the Zoo’s KIDZone rides and attraction area. Admission is free with general zoo admission.
Powder Springs is celebrating the Fourth of July with its 18th annual Independence Day Celebration from 4-10 p.m. at the Historic Town Square. Attractions will include entertainers Scott Thompson and The GLOW Band, food for purchase, children’s activities, a patriotic program beginning at 9:15 p.m. and fireworks around 9:45 p.m.
Last, but not least, the Georgia Aquarium is putting on its “Red White & Brew” event to celebrate the Fourth of July. Beginning at 6 p.m. on the fourth, enjoy barbecue, live music and views of Atlanta atop the aquarium’s parking deck. You’ll get an amazing view of the fireworks display at Centennial Olympic Park at 10:30 p.m.
