After five successful years in Cobb County, the Benjamin Preparatory School of Academics and Performing Arts will be moving to their new facility, located at 2445 Church Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30339.
The school’s principal and co-founder Dr. Verna Benjamin-Lambert, a former Cobb County school administrator, is not only excited to open the doors to the new building but is excited about ushering in her promising style of early childhood learning to a larger metro Atlanta audience.
“Our focus was to create a facility that would enhance our school’s mission, which is to prepare our students to excel on the world’s stage academically, socially and spiritually via a rigorous academic and performing arts curriculum within a safe and supportive school environment,” says Benjamin-Lambert.
The new, expanded complex features large classrooms, new technologies such as smart TVs, a dance studio, a music room, a theater space, library and 6,000 square feet of outdoor play space, which includes a garden and athletic fields—all envisioned with the goal to introduce a wide variety of exposures and expand opportunities for applied learning.
The move to the new campus was celebrated with an invite-only ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon, Thursday, November 13. Guests enjoyed feature performances from the Benjamin Prep students, a luncheon, a chance to tour the new school and a special address from keynote speaker James Wilson, former superintendent of Cobb County and Fulton County schools. Special invited guests for the ceremony included members of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and local business leaders.
