Looking for something to set you apart from other job applicants? See a career change in your future? The College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) is hosting an Open House on Jan. 7 at KSU Center, 3333 Busbee Drive in Kennesaw from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This free event is designed to provide an opportunity for the public to discover relevant training programs designed to help boost careers. Additional courses are also available for individuals to learn new skills for life enrichment.
The Open House will spotlight more than 50 professional certificate programs through Q&As with industry experts and successful graduates. Additionally, information at various booths throughout KSU Center will provide insight into CCPE’s offerings with program representatives available to answer any questions.
As a special bonus, all attendees will receive a 10% discount coupon valid through January 14, 2016. Registered visitors can enter a drawing for a $100 Visa gift card on the evening of the Open House.
CCPE offers programs in a wide range of areas from Project Management and Certified Nursing Assistant to Web Design and Culinary Apprenticeship. The college continues to bring relevant and innovative programs to the Atlanta market positioning the courses as a way to fuel education of developing job markets and furthering the expertise of career-minded individuals.
The Open House will also be staffed with financial aid advisers. They will provide assistance on payment plans, VA Education Benefits, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and more. Scholarships are also available for select programs.
The year 2016 is anticipated to be very a very exciting one as CCPE is rolling out new courses and programs, many by popular demand.

Back by popular demand, career coach John Long will lead several sessions on job interviewing and personal branding. He brings more than 10 years of experience in the Atlanta job market and a wealth of relevant knowledge to his presentations. His coaching topics include discovering the hidden job market, interview preparation, career transition, professional branding, resumé writing and LinkedIn.
“There is no such thing as job security anymore.” Long said. “This is why professional development is vital. You have to invest in yourself. Don’t underestimate the value of a professional certificate.”
