The February issue of Atlanta Magazine is all about millennials and the way that this generation of movers, shakers, and innovators is shaping our great city. A lot has been said about Generation Y— they’re gadget addicts, noncommittal, entrepreneurial, selfish, etc., but the thing that might define them the most, right now, is the selfie. However, not all selfies have to be selfish, which is why Atlanta magazine created the Millennials Unselfie Instagram Contest to support non-profits.
Here’s how it works:
- Post a photo to Instagram with your face and the name of your favorite non-profit organization in it. Tag @atlantamagazine, and if the non-profit is on Instagram, tag them too!
- Make the photo Instagram-ready by adding the hashtag #AtlMagUnselfie. Photos must be posted to Instagram with the hashtag in the caption in order to qualify for the contest.
- That photo counts as a “vote” for your non-profit to receive free advertising in a future issue of Atlanta magazine. We have teamed up with a new business in town called The Gathering Spot to award the non-profit with the most “unselfies” posted in their name with a free full-page ad and one month of advertising on Atlantamagazine.com.
- All unselfies must be posted with the appropriate hashtag by February 29.
Now, go make your favorite non-profit organization Insta-famous!
