The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Inc. has approved a grant to the Georgia Symphony Orchestra in the amount of $84,000 from the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund. The grant covers a two year period, and is in support of
the general operations of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra.
The highly competitive General Operating Support grants are provided to organizations in the Metropolitan Atlanta area that demonstrate a culture of fiscal responsibility, commitment to community, high quality programs, and best practices in organizational structure and governance.
Georgia Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Susan Stensland relates “It is a tribute to the musicians, staff, and board of the GSO that we have received this tremendous award from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. We are thrilled to be contributing to the arts and culture of our region in such a positive way, as we present our 67th season of great music to our community. This is a major milestone in our development as an arts organization, and is cause for celebration.”
The Georgia Symphony Orchestra plans to strategically reinvest the significant funding within the organization as a means to strengthen and grow the programming, impact, and musicalopportunities in the community.
