Marietta’s Gone With the Wind Museum is excited to announce that it will move its collection to the Historic Brumby Hall and Gardens located just off the Marietta Square at 472 Powder Springs Street, Marietta, GA 30064.
The Marietta Gone with the Wind Museum: Scarlett on the Square has been a mainstay in downtown Marietta since April 2003 when it opened in the historic Old Thomas Warehouse Building. With an extensive collection of memorabilia provided by Dr. Christopher Sullivan the museum is sure to delight and intrigue any Gone with the Wind fan, from novice to aficionado.
We now look forward to welcoming both frequent guests and those new to our lovely museum to the Historic Brumby Hall and Gardens, our own little Tara. Brumby Hall has a rich history – one that is equal to the Gone With The Wind story. The first 
superintendent of the Georgia Military Institute, Colonel Arnoldus V. Brumby, built this lovely Greek revival-style house in 1851 with GMI adjacent to the house. When Union General William Sherman’s troops occupied Marietta in 1864, the house was used as a hospital. The GMI buildings were burned as the army departed on its infamous “March to the Sea,” but the house was spared, as Sherman and Brumby had been acquainted with one another at West Point.
We will close at our current location on Monday, March 26th in order to carefully move our one of a kind collection to its new home. We will reopen at Brumby Hall by Monday, April 23, 2018. We are honored to not only continue to tell the story of the most iconic movie and film of all time, but also share the rich history of Brumby Hall with all those who visit.
