Winter Wonderland Gala Supports the Center for Family Resources’ Hand-Up-Not-Hand-Out Mission
Dust off your dancing shoes and maybe even update your passport. The Center for Family Resources’ Winter Wonderland Gala will offer a chance to bid on several unique items, including an African safari for two.
Now in its 24th year, the annual black-tie evening will be March 9, 2019 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Co-hosts for this year’s event are Kim Gresh and George Hartzog and Terri Bunten Guthrie and Jim Guthrie.
Proceeds from what has become Cobb County’s ultimate party with a purpose support the work of the Center for Family Resources: moving families who face poverty and homelessness to self-sufficiency through financial stabilization, housing and education.
The gala has hosted more than 500 patrons and raised more than $300,000 annually. This year the gala will feature dancing to live music by Party Nation. Doors will open for registration and cocktails at 6:15 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. As in past years, the gala will include silent and live auctions. In addition to the safari, items to be auctioned include everything from use of a luxury Braves Suite to artwork to adventures, near and far.
Presenting gala sponsors include: Genuine Parts Company, SA White Oil Company, Inc., First Landmark Bank and Superior Plumbing. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
For more information, please contact Kim Reeves, development director at (770) 428-7202. Tickets to the event can be purchased online at thecfr.org/gala.
