FineArtsMatter Keeps Kids Creative Online

Schools are closed but learning and inspiration is alive and well online with FineArtsMatter. Adapting to the new normal, FineArtsMatter has transitioned nearly 1800 students in guitar, piano, dance, and music production classes online, to the delight of students and their parents.

Responding quickly to the looming shut down of schools across our region, FineArtsMatter began testing and developing an online approach to music and dance enrichment. After training teachers and establishing systems to protect the online security of their students, programs resumed online on March 25th, with just one week of missed classes.

FineArtsMatter Founder and CEO, Jonathan Eftychiou, said he was “very grateful we’ve found a way to continue inspiring and encouraging our students during this challenging time.”

According to Google’s Trends website, there was a spike in searches for “online classes” Sunday night on the 15th of March, as many parents began to grapple with the reality of working from home while trying to oversee their child’s education. FineArtsMatter recognized the challenge parents were facing and the need to continue providing a structured and inspiring learning environment for students. Since beginning classes online they have received regular emails from thankful parents, like this one from an elementary school mother:

“This was absolutely amazing! Thank you for bringing joy to my son’s face today. He learned and had a blast! I cannot express my appreciation enough – you guys rock for going above and beyond to keep the kids engaged.”

FineArtsMatter is now opening enrollment to new students for their online Guitar Club, KidzKeys Piano, Beat Makers Music Production, and Let’s Dance Hip-Hop classes. “Our hope is that our online classes keep kids creative and learning at home”, said Eftychiou, “while offering parents a chance to catch their breath.”
