Steve Cannon received the Patriot of the Year award virtually at the Military Appreciation Luncheon. His strong community engagement and numerous achievements in the business, civic and military community made him perfect for this award.
Steve is the CEO of the AMB Group (includes all of Arthur Blanks’ entities which includes: (Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, PGA Superstore retail chain, and a Montana Guest Ranch). He is prior CEO of Mercedes -Benz North America, West Point Graduate with honors in Economics, 1986 and he founded the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund to support a fallen West Pointer’s Family, which has now raised more than $17Mil to provide scholarships to veterans and family members, particularly children of our nation’s fallen and disabled.
He Serves on the national board of directors for TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors), Serves an executive advisor to VETLANTA, Co-Created the West Point Consulting Group, a team of passionate, mostly West Point leaders supporting veteran non-profits with pro-bono expertise across Atlanta.
Cannon is currently supporting the Veterans Empowerment Organization. He has also led efforts to make the Falcons military outreach efforts the benchmark in the NFL. In 2018, Steve and Coach Dan Quinn led the first NFL team -directed USO Tour, visiting Soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait lifting the morale and spirits if deployed Soldiers.
