Fun makes a comeback this spring as the Center for Family Resources (CFR) kicks off dual fundraising events: a two-week-long Parade of Playhouses followed by the highly anticipated return of the nonprofit’s annual gala.
Now in its second year, the wildly popular Parade of Playhouses brings together design and construction teams to create extraordinary, imaginative children’s playhouses. The one-of-a-kind structures will be displayed at be Town Center at Cobb, April 18-30 prior to being auctioned off.
The campaign concludes with a not-to-be missed “Step Right Up Gala” at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria on April 30. There, the Galleria Ballroom will be transformed into an elegant circus-themed carnival, beginning with a cocktail reception. The evening will feature a live performance by Live Exchange Party Band, as well as other exciting performances, delectable delights, libations, interactive activities, prizes and auctions.
CDH Partners and McCarthy Builders are presenting sponsors for the dual events, co-chaired by Melissa Cantrell, CDH managing partner and Mark Cleverly, McCarthy project director. The two companies also will design and build the 2022 featured playhouse, which will be auctioned off live during the gala.
“As a nonprofit that has operated here in Cobb County for 62 years, we are thrilled to be back with two events that will allow us to continue preventing and disrupting homelessness for children and their families,” said Melanie Kagan, CFR’s chief executive officer. “We are especially grateful to our sponsors, board of directors, gala committee and co-chairs for their dedication and shared passion for what we do,”
Proceeds from the dual events will directly benefit CFR’s mission to reduce childhood homelessness by serving and empowering families through prevention, crisis intervention, housing support, education and compassionate care management.
