The Life University (Life U) Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams performed well at the NAIA Indoor Championships this past weekend as both teams recorded a title in an event and finished fifth overall. The women’s team claimed 33 team points, while the men’s team earned 28 points.

Indiana Tech was the champion on the women’s side, taking first place with a total of 127 points in the 62-team women’s field. Oklahoma City took that honor in a closer competition on the men’s side with 62 points in a 64-team field.

On the women’s side, Life U’s Iantha Wright provided the team’s only championship, finishing her dominant indoor season with a first place time of 7.34 seconds in the 60-meter dash. The team’s first All-American at the event was earned by Kaylee Lowe on Friday, placing third in the long jump with a distance of 5.82 meters. The Life U women earned three more All-American honors on the final day of competition. Brianna Florvilus got things started in the 400-meter dash, finishing fourth with a time of 54.95 seconds. All of the men’s accolades were earned on the final day, with the team’s champion and four All-Americans coming Saturday. The men earned their championship with a dominant effort in the 4×400-meter relay. The Life U squad of Jacob Ulrich, Ngoni Chadyiwa, Daniel Williams, and Sameer Mateen beat the closest competition by more than a second with a time of 3:08.77. The team’s first All-American of the day came in the 400-meter dash, with Chadyiwa placing sixth with a time of 47.73 seconds in the event.
