The Georgia Symphony Orchestra is opening their 74th
season with a celebration of the 100th anniversary of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue,
featuring pianist Robert Henry. This one-night-only event will take place October 12, 2024 at the
Dr. Bobbie Bailey and Family Performance Center in Kennesaw, GA.
GSO Music Director and Conductor Timothy Verville will lead the orchestra and 100-plus
members of the GSO Chorus as they perform a medley of songs from the 1920s, nostalgic
original versions of popular pieces, and more from this groundbreak era in music history.
Concert-goers will embark on a one-hour trip back in time to experience the earliest fusions of
American popular and classical music. Patrons are invited to dress in Roaring 20s style to
celebrate the event!
Tickets are $15–$45, and are now available through georgiasymphony.org/all-events.
