
Marietta, Georgia – June 24, 2025 – Life University’s (Life U’s) Dr. Michael D. Amos, Professor of Undergraduate Psychology in the College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies (CGUS), has been named Life U’s recipient of the 2025 Vulcan Materials Company’s Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr. Amos, a Doctor of Psychology, executive coach, speaker, author and founder of the Renovatio Leadership Institute, brings a unique blend of academic rigor and real-world application to his teaching. At Life U, he is widely recognized for his dynamic teaching style, his ability to inspire deep self-reflection and growth among his students, and his commitment to cultivating optimal human performance and self-leadership.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Amos mentors students and collaborates with colleagues across disciplines to enrich Life U’s academic community. His dedication to fostering transformative learning experiences exemplifies the University’s core values rooted in Vitalism and Lasting Purpose.

The award presentation took place during Life U’s Summer 2025 Commencement Ceremony on June 20, where Dr. Amos received a plaque acknowledging Vulcan Materials Company and a monetary gift on behalf of the University.
Founded in 1974, Life University is a health sciences institution most known for its College of Chiropractic, the largest single-campus College of Chiropractic in the world. Undergraduates can pursue 12 undergraduate degrees; a pre-chiropractic, degree-seeking pathway; and three graduate degrees within the College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies.
