
The Powder Springs Police Department with the support of other city departments and community sponsors will hold its annual National Night Out event Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. in Thurman Springs Park. The public is invited to attend.
Free food will be provided by Croy Engineering, and attendees will be able to meet local law enforcement as well as representatives from other community resources and organizations. The night will also feature demonstrations, emergency vehicle displays, raffles and more.
Neighboring agencies expected to attend are the Georgia State Patrol, Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services, Cobb County Police Department, Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, Cobb County 911, Puckett EMS, Austell Police Department and the Hiram Police Department.
Community partners participating in the event include Acres & Oak Kitchen, Blue Thanksgiving Inc., Elite Insurance, First Baptist Church Powder Springs, Foothills Chiropractic, Fraternal Order of Police, Heirloom Antiques & Art Gallery, LinkedUp Church, Nichols Center, Our Local Heroes, PNC Bank, Premier Karate, Sam’s Club of Hiram, Sangster’s Cafe, State Farm and West Cobb Dental Studio. Many other organizations are also participating.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Powder Springs is among the thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide that hold National Night Out events, with many reserving the first Tuesday in August for their celebrations. The City of Powder Springs holds its event each year on the first Tuesday in October.
