Marietta wellness practice begins a new chapter in restored 1887 landmark just off Marietta Square
Hart Chiropractic & Wellness recently celebrated the relaunch and expansion of its
Marietta practice with an official ribbon cutting at its home in the historic Schilling House at 216 Washington Avenue NE, just off Marietta Square.
The celebration marked more than an expansion of the longtime chiropractic practice. It also showcased the extensive restoration of the 1887 Schilling House and the evolution of Hart Chiropractic & Wellness into a collaborative, whole-person wellness community offering a broad range of health and restorative services under one roof.
Founded and owned by Dr. Robert Hart, Hart Chiropractic & Wellness now brings together chiropractic care, nutrition and Applied Kinesiology, therapeutic massage and bodywork, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, neurofeedback and brain training, neuropathy and shockwave therapy, Himalayan salt therapy, infrared sauna, vibrational therapy, intuitive guidance and energy balancing.
The practice also houses the new HALO Salt + Energy Studio, founded and owned by India Leigh. HALO offers
Himalayan salt therapy, infrared sauna therapy and vibrational therapy, both individually and through combined
restorative experiences. The studio also provides opportunities for select practitioner-led services to be experienced within the Himalayan salt room.
A New Chapter for an 1887 Marietta Landmark
The home of Hart Chiropractic & Wellness is itself an important part of the story. The historic Schilling-Prosser House, commonly known as the Schilling House, was built in 1887 for Frederick E. A. Schilling, a German immigrant and prominent Marietta merchant who established Schilling Hardware Company near Marietta Square.
The Victorian residence is part of the National Register-listed Washington Avenue Historic District and is recognized for its Queen Anne architectural features, including its distinctive turret, asymmetrical design, multiple gables and decorative detailing.
Nearly 140 years later, Dr. Hart has personally undertaken an extensive renovation and restoration of the property, carefully preserving the character of the historic house while adapting its spaces for the growing practice and its community of wellness practitioners.
The result brings together historic preservation, local entrepreneurship and community wellness, allowing a
distinctive piece of Marietta history to continue serving the community in a new way.
