ART EDUCATION SERIES INCLUDES FIELD TRIPS & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS PRE-K THROUGH 12TH GRADE
ATLANTA – July 25, 2024—ArtsBridge Foundation is proud to announce that registration is now open for Pre-K-12 schools across Georgia to participate in the 2024-2025 Program Season, which includes field trips and professional development workshops. To partner in the fight against food insecurity and to assist the academic journey of Pre-K-12 students, every student who attends an ArtsBridge Field Trip will receive a nutritious Snack Pack.
The first 2024 field trip is Synchronicity Theatre’s theatrical production of Caldecott award-winning author John Steptoe’s Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters: An African Tale on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, for grades K-12.
“Providing first-hand educational experiences such as the field trips is essential to connecting students with the arts and enhancing their understanding of fine arts outside the classroom,” says Elizabeth Lenhart, director of arts education for ArtsBridge Foundation.
For the professional development series, ArtsBridge Foundation will host the Theatre: Inside-n-Out workshop on Aug. 27, 2024 for the second consecutive year, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The popular series is geared toward grades 9-12 high school students and educators interested in specialized technical and theatrical skills, such as light and sound. The program will occur at the John A. Williams Theatre stage of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Registration is $125, with reduced group pricing at $100 (five to nine students) or $75 (over ten students). Scholarships are available for Title I schools and students.

The program allows students to have first-hand educational experiences that directly tie to the classroom curriculum and the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). Regardless of their ability to pay, ArtsBridge Foundation believes all students deserve access to the arts. Through the Financial Aid Subsidy Program, the Foundation provides admission, transportation, and tuition assistance for Title I and underserved schools and students in need with low to no budget for arts education field trips.
