Becca’s Closet Sponsors Reach Out For Help From Community

Sponsors of Becca’s Closet at McEachern High School are reaching out to the community for help since being asked to move out of their donated space on Whitlock Avenue in Marietta. Please read the letter below and consider passing it along to your contacts that may be able to help.

beccas closetDear Friends of the Community,

For 10 years Becca’s Closet Atlanta’s Chapter has collected thousands of dresses to distribute to girls in financial need free of charge in order that they can attend their Prom or Homecoming Dances. This award winning branch of the nation-wide non-profit has gone above and beyond to host fashion shows, help other state chapters get their start, and has hosted Hospital Proms at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. Now we find ourselves needing special help to continue our mission of making a difference for girls in need; we need a new location.

For 3 years we have been grateful to stay rent free in a donated space on Marietta’s historic Whitlock Avenue. The location has now been leased and we must move ASAP. We are looking for a new location in the Kennesaw/Marietta area with about 1500 square feet where we can house our 3000 dresses and racks year-round. Since we are an all volunteer organization and operate almost solely on in-kind donations, we can only offer to pay the utilities and provide a tax write-off for the rent.  Our hope is to find a place to stay for a lengthy amount of time so we can once again turn our focus to helping girls in need.

We love serving the community and now need the help of the community to continue our efforts. Please view our website at www.beccascloset.org for more information about our organization. If you have questions or believe you can help us, please email us at beccasclosetatlanta@gmail.com or call Renae Gunter directly at 770-596-9588.

Thank you for your help!
