UNITED SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS COUNCIL OF GEORGIA APPOINTS BRIAN JOHNSTONE AS VICE CHAIRMAN

Lockheed Martin’s government relations director Brian Johnstone has been appointed Vice Chairman of the USO Council of Georgia, Inc.

“Brian brings extraordinary talents to this position from his corporate experience with Lockheed Martin, and his accomplishments while serving in the U.S. Army,” said Mary Lou Austin, president and CEO of USO Georgia, Inc. “The United Service Organizations is very pleased to have him on board in this leadership position.”

Johnstone has been government relations director at Lockheed Martin’s Marietta site for 20 years. He is a retired Colonel in the Army Reserve. During his tenure in the Army, he served active duty tours in Vietnam and during Operation Desert Storm. He has been involved with USO for 20 years and most recently served on the organization’s board of directors.

“We are honored that one of our employees has been selected to a leadership position within USO, an organization with an uplifting and humbling mission,” said Shan Cooper, vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ Marietta site. “At Lockheed Martin we say, ‘We never forget who we’re working for’ – the men and women of the armed forces who so bravely serve our country. Our employees take our commitment to America’s armed forces seriously, and Brian’s appointment is an outward expression of that promise.”
