Kicking off its monthly Charity Night, Burger 21 partnered with the Bullock Hope House last month and donated 10 percent of the sales on Feb. 21 to the Powder Springs-based charity.
Burger 21, which opened February 6, is locally owned and operated by David and Theresa Brown. Since Burger 21’s inception in 2010, the Tampa, Florida-based company has provided more than $160,000 in contributions as part of its’ “B Charitable” initiative. On the 21st of each month, Burger 21 donates 10 percent of its restaurants’ sales to local schools and charities.
The Bullock Hope House, founded in 2005, provides free housing for out of town cancer, rehab and families of burn patients. It has provided a “Home Away from Home” atmosphere for out-of-town patients and their caregivers. Last year, they received referrals from the burn unit at WellStar Cobb Hospital, The Shepherd Center’s Beyond Therapy and Pathways programs.
“The need for providing a ‘Home Away From Home’ atmosphere to out-of-town patients and their caregivers and is a very worthy cause,” said Hope House president Connie Bullock. “The free housing takes away just one of their financial burdens, while providing a peaceful healing environment as the patient is going through treatments.”
All proceeds received from the Burger 21 Charity Night go to supporting the operations of the house and to the housing of the guests and their caregiver.
Bullock Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) IRS approved nonprofit and is operated solely with volunteers, as there are no salaried positions.
