Under the local leadership of Cobb County President Ron King,Capital City Bank announcesan expanded array of commercial and business lending solutions serving the needs of a broad range of industries, with an emphasis on owner-managed and owner-occupied, and investment real estate markets. This past fall, the 126-year-old community bank further invested in the Cobb County community by introducing virtual teller technology to better support the varied needs of its clients at its loan production office at 199 Roswell St. Northeast, just off the square in Marietta.
“At Capital City Bank, we are driven by a brand promise: ‘More than your bank. Your banker.’ And for 126 years, we have focused on making a difference in our communities,” said William G. Smith Jr., Capital City Bank Group chairman, president and chief executive officer. “We work to fulfill our brand promise by providing strong financial partnership both to our clients, individually, and our communities, as a whole.”
Since joining the Capital City Bank team as Cobb County president in June 2021, second-generation banker and Cobb County native Ron King has been providing local leadership and guiding the development and delivery of Capital City Bank products and services throughout the communities of the greater Atlanta metro area. An accomplished career banker, King has two decades of experience in banking and financial services and an extensive background in commercial lending. He has held executive-level positions with AmSouth, United Community Bank and most recently, Renasant Bank. King earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC and is a graduate of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking. King demonstrates the Capital City Bank commitment to community as an active member of the East Cobb Rotary Club, as well as through service on the boards of Reading is Essential for All People (REAP) and Gracepoint School. He also serves on the finance committee at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church.
“At Capital City Bank, we are part of a community banking tradition that values relationships and focuses on making a difference,” said Market President Ron King. “During what has proved a very difficult time for all of us, Capital City has had the opportunity to become a part of this community and earn the trust of our neighbors while serving its commercial and business lending needs,” This expansion allows us to offer a comprehensive set of products and services to better assist Cobb County.”
The Capital City Bank brand was first introduced to the region in March of 2020 when announcing a partnership with 14-year-old mortgage lender, BrandMortgage, to provide mortgage services under the name of Capital City Home Loans. The community bank opened its loan production office in June 2021 and has offered a growing selection of commercial and business lending solutions. With the introduction of virtual teller technology this past October, enhanced office amenities now feature a blend of in-person services and innovative Express Banking tools. The virtual teller offers live assistance from a banker via video chat and is available to Capital City Bank clients with or without a debit card for a wide range of services. In addition to the banker-assisted option, the virtual teller offers clients with debit cards a self-service banking option for basic transactions such as deposits, withdrawals and balance inquiries. Combined with online and mobile banking, clients are able to deposit checks, track activity on their accounts, keep tabs on their balances and pay bills, among other things, when and where they choose, even after traditional business hours.
“We are proud to add the communities of Cobb County to the home towns we serve, and as we continue to grow our presence, we look forward to solidifying new relationships both with valued clients and great local bankers like Ron King,” said Smith. “Ron is both an accomplished banker and a dedicated community member, and we have every confidence in his ability to lead our team and our efforts.”
