Welcomes Commercial Banker Tom Mason
Capital City Bank announces Tom Mason has joined a growing team of bankers serving the commercial and business lending needs of the greater Atlanta metro area. Mason joins Cobb County President Ron King at the Capital City Bank loan production office located at 199 Roswell St. Northeast, just off the square in Marietta. As a commercial banker, Mason provides guidance, expertise and array of commercial and business lending solutions to serve the needs of a broad range of industries, with an emphasis on owner-managed and owner-occupied, and investment real estate markets.
“Capital City Bank brings a 126-year community banking tradition renowned for its commitment to personalized banking relationships and strong community partnership,” said Cobb County President Ron King. “With the experience and expertise he brings, Tom makes a great addition to our team as we work to provide strong financial partnership both to our clients, individually, and our community, as a whole.”
Mason comes to Capital City Bank with more than 24 years of prior banking experience in a variety of capacities including retail banking service and management, regional management, Treasury Management services and business banking. Born in Indianapolis, Ind., he relocated to Georgia in 1990 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University. Mason currently resides in Canton, Ga. with his wife Betsy and three children, and volunteers his time coaching the Georgia Flames travel basketball team. He is a former director of junior basketball for Creekview High School.
“We are proud to add the communities of Cobb County to the home towns we serve,” said William G. Smith Jr., Capital City Bank Group chairman, president and chief executive officer. “As we continue to grow our local banking team and offerings, we look forward to earning the trust of our neighbors and further solidifying our ties in the community.”
The Capital City Bank brand was first introduced to the region in March of 2020 when announcing a partnership with 14-year-old mortgage lender, BrandMortgage, to provide mortgage services under the name of Capital City Home Loans. The community bank opened its loan production office in June 2021 and has offered a growing selection of commercial and business lending solutions. This past October, Capital City Bank further invested in the Cobb County community by introducing virtual teller technology to better support the varied needs of its clients. The virtual teller offers live assistance from a banker via video chat and is available to Capital City Bank clients with or without a debit card for a wide range of services. In addition to the banker-assisted option, the virtual teller offers clients with debit cards a self-service banking option for basic transactions such as deposits, withdrawals and balance inquiries. Combined with online and mobile banking, clients are able to deposit checks, track activity on their accounts, keep tabs on their balances and pay bills, among other things, when and where they choose, even after traditional business hours.
