Are you ready to launch your career as a networking professional? The Cisco CCNA Certificate offered at KSU’s College of Continuing and Professional Education can help you head in the right direction. This combined program provides students with the necessary knowledge to earn the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) credential and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) credential.
“Atlanta’s tech momentum continues to grow a rapid pace,” said Rebecca Mattox, Cisco Certificate program manager. “This program is designed to provide essential training to those seeking employment in the field.”
The 20-session class is taught by three instructors who have more than 50 years of combined experience in the field. Patrick Rockholz has been working with networks for over 15 years and has held his CCNA since 2001. Rockholz has experience working with WAN and LAN network technologies as well as with SDN solutions and switches. Gardner Smith has 10 years of experience teaching CCNA classes in a continuing education setting and over 25 years of experience working with networks. He is skilled in network and systems security, Cisco routers and switches, and risk assessment. Joe Braswell is a CCNA Certified Sr. Network Engineer with more than 25 years of technical experience. Braswell is a recognized Cisco Academy instructor and has served as a Cisco instructor at KSU since 2006.
“Our instructors bring a wealth of knowledge to this program,” Mattox said. “They are committed and dedicated to preparing our students for the evolving job market.”
Roger Hinton, program graduate says this class was “a breath of fresh air.” The program was a welcomed challenge for the retired military veteran. “I spent 20 years working on telecommunications gear,” Hinton said. “I was qualified to work on a lot of pieces of equipment however, it was nothing new. When I got in this class I noticed technology had really taken off from what I had done in the past.”
Ken Danter, program graduate, said he enjoyed the program’s hands-on component. “They actually give you something to work on and you have something to take home,” he said. “That puts you leaps and bounds above everybody else as far as the training goes.”
The next Cisco certificate program begins on July 8. Space is limited. For more information on this program or other technology offerings, visit ccpe.kennesaw.edu or call 470-578-6765.
