City of Marietta Provides Information for Governor Kemp’s Plan to Reopen State

On Monday, April 20, 2020, Governor Brian Kemp issued a statewide Executive Order which laid out plans to reopen the State of Georgia for certain businesses. This Executive Order takes precedent over any local actions regulating how businesses operate during the Public Health State of Emergency.

The Executive Order to Provide Flexibility for Healthcare Practices, Moving Certain Business to Minimum Operations, and Provide for Emergency Response gives information on how certain businesses and medical practices may reopen for business. This order also allows for the reopening of all gyms, fitness centers, bowling alleys, hair salons, barber shops, nail salons, tattoo parlors, and massage therapists provided that specified measures are taken to mitigate the exposure and spread of COVID-19. Not contained in this Executive Order, the Governor indicated that he will issue an additional executive order opening movie theatres and restaurants for dine-in service beginning Monday, April 27, 2020.

Effective April 24, 2020, the following businesses may now reopen provided that they follow the guidelines outlined in the Order dated April 20, 2020:
