The Cobb Chamber of Commerce concluded its annual three-month membership drive yesterday, with 24 teams bringing in 244 new members.
The targeted goal was well surpassed as teams turned in money on the final two days of Campaign. The final report party echoed this year’s campaign theme “Pump it up American Style” and had a Rocky champion attitude in honor of the volunteers who boxed with the challenging economy. All campaign producers were rewarded with special prizes such as trips, personal savings bonds and gift certificates donated by businesses in the community. Top achievers received a five-night cruise to Bermuda.
The Leadership Cobb Alumni team was the top dollar producing team. Dianne Weeks of WellStar was named Rookie of the Year, Allan Bishop of WellStar brought in the most new members and Lisa Crossman of the Leadership Cobb Alumni Team was named the MVP and was the top dollar producing individual.
For the first time, the Cobb Chamber’s Chairman’s Club, the highest level of membership, reached 200 companies thanks to the hard working volunteers who signed up the new members. Top Chairman’s Club Renewal Production for the entire Campaign went to Vickie Haney of Bank of North Georgia.
Mary Karras of Bank of North Georgia served as the Campaign chairwoman and was assisted by Campaign Division leaders Tony Britton of Wachovia, A Wells Fargo Company; Sam Kelly of Cobb EMC; Al Martin of Georgia Power Company and Kim Menefee of WellStar.
Although the 2010 New Member Campaign is over, members are always encouraged to recommend new businesses to the Chamber. To recommend a prospective member, call the Membership Department at 770-980-2000.
