Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority Releases 2020 Annual Report

Cobb Galleria Centre, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and ArtsBridge Foundation recently released their joint 2020 Annual Report. The Annual Report is dedicated to the memory of Johnny Gresham, a longtime member of the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority who passed away in 2020.

In 2020, Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Centre experienced first-time-ever closures and a significant reduction in events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, financial results and economic impact numbers were significantly lower than previous years. Both venues generated approximately $85.8 million in overall economic impact for Cobb County and the State of Georgia, based on an economic impact study performed by an independent consulting firm.  Approximately $4.5 million in sales, income, local option, hotel/motel and liquor by the drink taxes are directly attributable to events held at the Cobb Galleria Centre and Cobb Energy Centre.

The venues produced a total of 378 events with attendance of 331,000 in 2020. ArtsBridge Foundation, the arts education outreach arm of the Cobb Energy Centre, reached 24,000 students and educators in 2020 through field trips, master classes, educational experiences, the family series and the virtual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards – Shuler Hensley Awards®. The 2019 live television broadcast earned a 2020 Southeast Emmy® Award.

“Despite our many challenges in Fiscal 2020, we firmly believe in our long-term future that includes welcoming back face-to-face meetings and live entertainment to our venues,” said Michele Swann, General Manager and CEO of the Authority.
