CobbWorks, Inc. Bridge to Success Program in Partnership with District 2 Commissioner Jerica Richardson

In response to the employment crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, CobbWorks is launching the Bridge to Success program in partnership with Cobb County District 2 Commissioner Jerica Richardson and her office.

The Bridge to Success program is a “back-to-work” initiative that provides employment opportunities and rental assistance to eligible Cobb County residents while simultaneously providing qualified, no-cost hires to area businesses who make tax-deductible contributions. Businesses who are interested in learning how they can participate in this initiative can attend an information session on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the Switzer Library (266 Roswell St NE, Marietta, GA 30060) from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

“We are excited to launch this new initiative in partnership with Commissioner Richardson. This is an exciting opportunity for employers to get the talent they so desperately need while positively impacting the lives of families that have suffered in this economic downturn,” says President/CEO Sonya Grant.

Bridge to Success seeks to connect Cobb County residents who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to employers in the area. To offset the undue economic burdens caused by the pandemic, Bridge to Success includes rental and mortgage assistance to individuals who have found employment through the program. Employers have the opportunity to contribute to CobbWorks, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, as a charitable donation. 90% of the contributions generously given to CobbWorks will be distributed to the employee participants of the Bridge to Success program.

“From Cobb County District 2 Commissioner Jerica Richardson: ‘Programs like this require little investment but make a generational impact. I am living proof of what it means when a company chooses to invest in its community in such a way as my own story is one that benefited from this exact model.’”

As Cobb County’s American Job Center, CobbWorks provides access to a system of employment and education services for our community. In an increasingly complex workforce and economy, people sometimes need guidance and assistance in managing their career development, particularly when challenged with unexpected events. CobbWorks provides workforce services that assist people in helping themselves and their families.
