Croy and Hall County Government Honored with Statewide Award for Sardis Road Connector Project

Georgia-based, full-service consulting firm Croy, along with Hall County Government, was recently honored with a Georgia Partnership for Transportation Quality (GPTQ) Preconstruction Design Award during the annual Georgia Transportation Summit. Croy’s extensive right-of-way acquisition work with the County on its Sardis Road Connector project earned it the top award in the “Right-of-Way Acquisition” category.

Awarded by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia), and the Georgia Highway Contractors Association, the GPTQ Preconstruction Design Awards celebrate forward-thinking and innovative projects in transportation infrastructure.

“The Croy team has been instrumental as the land acquisition consultant for this transformative corridor,” said Hall County Engineer, Brent Cook, PE. “Their responsiveness, proactive approach, and innovative problem-solving were invaluable to the success of this project.”

The Sardis Road Connector is a major infrastructure project aimed at enhancing travel safety and efficiency for both residents and commuters in Hall County, Ga. Croy worked closely with the County and GDOT to perform right-of-way acquisition efforts to facilitate the project’s construction. Despite the scope of 163 parcels and complexity of the project, Croy’s team achieved a condemnation rate of less than one percent and successfully managed the relocation of 198 tenants from one parcel that was a self-storage facility.

“We congratulate Hall County on this award-winning project that brings increased mobility, accessibility, and safety to its community,” said Croy’s Chief Executive Officer Gregory D. Teague, PE. “At Croy, we’re proud to provide right-of-way and land acquisition services for our clients and their infrastructure improvement projects across the Southeast.”

Spanning 3.4 miles, the roadway will feature a four-lane, curb-and-gutter divided design with two lanes in each direction. As the first new road project in Hall County since the establishment of I-985, the Sardis Road Connector will establish a vital link between State Route 53 and State Route 60.
