CROY NAMED EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR BY ATLANTA TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATION

Georgia-based, full-service consulting firm Croy Engineering was named the 2021 Employer of the Year by the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Atlanta Chapter. The award is presented annually to a business or organization in recognition of its support of WTS Atlanta, as well as continuing development of women through professional education, organizations, and advancement. The award was announced and presented during WTS Atlanta’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon at the Georgia Aquarium on Friday.

“Our leadership is committed to recruiting, retaining, and elevating women company-wide,” said Croy’s President Gregory D. Teague, PE. “This is best demonstrated through our support of leadership development and trainings, career advancement, and community involvement opportunities that enable our female employees to grow both professionally and personally.”

Croy has several women in executive and senior positions, including leading five of the firm’s main departments – Aviation, Land Acquisition, Marketing, Municipal Utilities, and Traffic Mobility. In recognition of their contributions to Croy and the engineering industry, many of these leaders have been named to Engineering Georgia magazine’s “100 Influential Women in Engineering” and “50 Women in the Know” lists for multiple years.

“Croy is continually and consistently supporting diversity and inclusion at all levels of our firm. Our owners go beyond simply setting policy; they strategically invest in and implement initiatives that make women, like myself, feel heard and valued,” commented Croy’s Traffic Department Manager – Aimee S. Turner, PE, PTOE, IMSA TS III – who was on-hand to accept the award alongside Teague. Turner was recently named a 2021 Rising Star in the A/E/C Industry by The Zweig Group and to the 2022 Top Young Professionals class by ENR Southeast – nominations both supported and submitted by Croy.

In additional efforts to support career and leadership development of its female team members, Croy offers several opportunities – oftentimes leveraging external resources to do so. These efforts include sponsorship and participation in business, industry, and non-profit organizations, such as Advance Atlanta, American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia), American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE Georgia), Association of Georgia General Aviation Airports (AGGAA), Center for Family Resources, Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Aviation Association (GAA), Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP), Institute of Transportation Engineers Georgia Section (ITE Georgia), and WTS Atlanta.

With more than 200 members, WTS Atlanta is focused on equity, access, and advancement for women in transportation. The association works to offer its members in the metro Atlanta area access to professional development, mentoring, community service, and networking opportunities to attract, sustain, and connect women in the transportation industry.

Croy employees attended the Annual Scholarship Luncheon to celebrate being selected as WTS Atlanta’s 2021 Employer of the Year, including (L-R) Gregory D. Teague, Daniel B. Dobry, Jr., Zahra Jeena, Aimee S. Turner, Sasha Ugi, and Chris Rideout.
