Artist Cathy Ehrler is the Cobb Chamber’s featured artist in the Diana Brehm Williams Art Gallery through February. Ehrler is a painter of oils, watercolors and drawings whose work has earned national recognition. A resident of Atlanta, Ehrler garners much of her inspiration from ordinary objects around her, painting them in unexpected ways. She has displayed many solo exhibitions including her series “Abstraction/Distraction,” which is on display in the Cobb Chamber’s Diana Brehm Williams Art Gallery.
This series is an interpretation of the social change technology has placed on society, changing our behavior, boundaries between leisure and work, and public and private space. In the series “Abstraction/Distraction,” Ehrler portrays this daily experience and illustrates the technological, social and economic changes that have reshaped our world and our individual lives in the new millennium.
Ehrler has earned Signature Membership in the San Diego Watercolor Society, The Kentucky Watercolor Society and the Georgia Watercolor Society where she is a past president. She is a Member of Excellence in the Atlanta Artists Center.
