The Diana Brehm Williams art gallery at the Cobb Chamber features different artists on rotation, and is pleased to bring Kathy Rennell Forbes to the cultural spotlight through August.
Kathy Rennell Forbes, a resident of midtown Atlanta, was inspired to create the “Impressions of Cobb” painting series by the diverse scenery from the historic Concord Covered Bridge to the present day concrete bridges at the Cobb Cloverleaf to the National Cemetery in Marietta. Kathy tried to capture her impressions of this change using watercolor, acrylic or oil. She was attracted to the old and new; the wonderful geometric shapes of the architecture and how they interacted with the organic, beautiful Cobb landscape.
Forbes works out of her Westside Arts District studio. She is a Signature Member of the Georgia Watercolor Society and past President, and is also a Member of Excellence in the Atlanta Artists Center. She teaches art classes in the Atlanta area, including Kennesaw State University Continuing Education, and conducts art workshops around the country and in Italy. Her representational paintings are in private and corporate collections around the world, to include the Hotel Intercontinental in Atlanta, French Olympic Committee in Paris, Telstra in Melbourne, The Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Atlanta and Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
Forbes earned her BFA in Art and Art Education at the University of Georgia. The artist has exhibited in many solo art shows and has won awards in local, regional and national shows.
Join us in celebrating an emerging artist who calls Atlanta her home and be sure to visit the Cobb Chamber to see her work on display!
