The Cobb Chamber of Commerce presented its Friend of Business Award to Cobb Representative Don Parsons at its First Monday Breakfast today.
The award honors one of Cobb’s State Legislators for their dedication and commitment to our county and continued support of pro-business legislative policy at the State Capitol.
“Don Parsons has served our citizens with the rest of our quality delegation in an exemplary manner. His positive attitude and commitment to our county sets a standard for others,” said Cobb Chamber Chairman Rob Garcia.
Parsons was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1994. He is the Chairman of the Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committees. Parsons also serves on the Health and Human Services Committee, the Appropriations Committee and the Ways and Means Committee.
Representative Parsons is a long time member of the Marietta Kiwanis Club. He serves on numerous advisory boards including the Northwest Georgia Law Enforcement Academy Board, the Cobb County Library Foundation Board, the Cobb Community Service Board, and the Cobb Safety Village Board. He is a Major in the Civil Air Patrol. He and his wife Jo Lynn worship in the Methodist tradition of the Christian Church. He has been a resident of Cobb County since 1973
