Frog Rock Brewery Celebrates One Year of Driving Economic Development in Downtown Austell, GA

“Happy Beer” brewed with Lithia Spring Mineral Water infuses refreshment to South Cobb

Frog Rock Brewery, Austell’s first microbrewery, continues to celebrate their success in the Austell community with a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 21, 2024 at 5 p.m at 2764 Broad Street. Following a “first birthday party,” attended by hundreds of beer lovers and local customers on Saturday, Aug. 3, the ribbon cutting signifies a full calendar year of community building and camaraderie centered around hoppy beverages with punny names.

“We feel extremely grateful for our community’s support in the first year and look forward to building on the successes of year one,” said Andrew Lundstrom, owner and co-founder of Frog Rock Brewery. “While long overdue, this ribbon cutting ceremony will help build on the brewing excitement of our presence downtown and in the South Cobb area. We can’t wait to see what year two has in store for us and our community.”

In the last year, the brewery has contributed to the local economy in numerous ways, including the 2023 Austell Labor Day Festival, Cobb Travel & Tourism’s Bubbles and Brews campaign, and creating five new jobs for the downtown district. The brewery added an impressive accolade to their resume as a gold medal recipient at the GA Craft Brewery Festival in May of this year. Additionally, the brewery has built active vendor relationships with Cobb County businesses, Sweetwater Creek State Park, and the Douglas County Museum of History and Art.

“Frog Rock Brewery has been an incredible asset to our downtown district,” said Councilmember Marlin Lamar. “Venues like this one have proven to revitalize surrounding areas across America, we’re thankful that the brewery decided to plant their roots in Austell.”

Despite challenges in the craft beer industry that has led other local breweries to close their doors, Frog Rock Brewery will continue to support and advocate for state legislation that will help small craft breweries further serve their community outside their four walls, spurring further economic growth.
