JE Dunn Receives Gold Leed for East Region Office

In the lobby of JE Dunn Construction, a wall of distinctive, regionally resourced cypress wood provides the backdrop for an award of LEED Gold certification to JE Dunn’s East Region Headquarters building in Cobb County, Georgia. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) certified the building in the category, New Construction and Major Renovations. JE Dunn bought the ‘70s-era building and in 2014 performed a full interior demolition and renovation, including adapting the structure to support an expansion from two to three stories. The certification highlights the project’s many eco-friendly features, including recycled content, water efficient landscaping, alternative transportation accommodations, on-site renewable energy, heat island effect-roof, and development density and community connectivity. Award participants included (l-r) JE Dunn Executive Vice President Mike Bartlett, David Freedman, Executive Director of the USGBC Georgia Chapter, and JE Dunn’s Reed Thomas, Director of Preconstruction, and Dan Kaufman, East Region President.
