ATLANTA (July 8, 2015) —The Atlanta Braves today announced that Atlanta-based Gas South will remain the official natural gas partner when the team moves into their new home at SunTrust Park.
“Gas South has been a great partner of our organization and we are thrilled that they have decided to extend that partnership,” said Derek Schiller, Braves executive vice president of sales and marketing. “We expect Gas South’s tradition of enhancing the in-game experience to continue every time the team takes the field at SunTrust Park.”
As an official partner, Gas South will receive prominent signage in the new ballpark, including a 75 foot long “Bring the Heat” LED digital board in left field that will display pitching statistics and fan-friendly messaging throughout the game. Gas South will also continue to sponsor the popular Kiss Cam feature and will be the presenting sponsor for the Braves annual 4th of July fireworks show.
Gas South will also continue to demonstrate its community commitment by making a donation to area non-profit organizations for each strikeout thrown by a Braves pitcher, which has generated more than $200,000 for the United Way and the Salvation Army since 2009.
“After eight seasons as a partner of the Atlanta Braves, we’re looking forward to joining the team at SunTrust Park,” said Kevin Greiner, Gas South president and CEO. “The new ballpark and development are exciting for our region, and we’re delighted to continue to partner with one of the top organizations in all of professional sports.”
SunTrust Park is being developed by the Braves in partnership with Cobb County, the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority and the Cumberland CID, and will be completed by Opening Day 2017. Located in Atlanta at the intersection of I-75 and I-285 in the bustling Cumberland CID, SunTrust Park will flow directly into the surrounding development, creating a vibrant atmosphere with unique shops, restaurants, offices, residences and entertainment venues that are accessible 365 days a year.
