GDCR Attorneys at Law is proud to announce that Member Attorney Joyette Holmes has been appointed and sworn into office to the Georgia Juvenile Justice Board.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp delivered the oath of office to Holmes on July 15. Prior to joining the firm, Holmes served as the former District Attorney for Cobb Judicial Circuit. Her extensive public service experience led to her appointment by Governor Brian Kemp earlier this month.
She made Cobb County history by becoming the first female and African American to serve as both Chief Magistrate and District Attorney. She was also appointed as the special prosecutor in the Ahmaud Arbery case, which drew headlines nationwide.

Prior, Holmes served as the Chief Magistrate Judge for Cobb County, as an Assistant District Attorney, and as an Assistant Solicitor General.
Holmes was selected as the 2019 Cobb County Citizen of the Year and one of Cobb Life Magazine’s “20 Rising Stars under 40.” Holmes also serves on the boards of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Must Ministries, the Cobb Community Foundation and the Davis Direction Foundation. She is also a Life Member of the Cobb County NAACP Chapter.
