With July 4th this Friday, our attention has turned to celebrating our freedom. There are several businesses in Cobb that support veterans returning home from active duty. GeorgiaLocalSearch, LLC (www.georgialocalsearch.com), a local business and active member of the Cobb County Chamber, has put together an initiative for returning military veterans. GeorgiaLocalSearch is an internet business search site that serves Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, Douglas, N. Fulton, Forsyth and Paulding counties. The mission of the company is “Connecting Local Businesses with Buyers.” This Chamber member has taken a step toward helping decrease the growing number of unemployed members of the military returning from overseas.
The company has launched a distinctive job program specifically for veterans returning home from active duty. Any veteran who wants to start a business in Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, Douglas, N. Fulton, Forsyth or Paulding counties can join GeorgiaLocalSearch and take advantage of several services for “free for one year”, including: search engine optimization, a business profile page on GeorgiaLocalSearch.com, coupons and pictures, and professional marketing advice.
The initiative’s main focus is to help veterans get on their feet and return to the workforce. Director, Ken Adams explains, “The veterans have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy. We need to recognize this and give back to them. GeorgiaLocalSearch.com will provide the internet tools necessary to connect their business with local consumers. “Small businesses are the largest job creators in America, and GeorgiaLocalSearch is the best way for a small business to get noticed and stay successful,” says company President, Donna Rae Adams. GeorgiaLocalSearch’s initiative is endorsed by Krystine Torella, owner of Team Torella Realty and affiliate of Georgia Homes for Heroes, an organization that provides charitable assistance to military members in need.
The Cobb County community is striving to accomplish efforts to help our returning military, and GeorgiaLocalSearch is one example of how local business can get involved and make a difference.
