The Georgia Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with “Autism Speaks” will present a Sensory Friendly Concert designed especially for individuals with autism. The performance will be held at the Marietta Performing Arts Center at 2p.m. on Saturday, March 4.
A new addition to GSO’s educational and outreach program, this concert will give a broad overview of the great expanse of classical music. Sensory sensitive listeners and family members will discover an orchestral experience that invites and welcomes individuals with autism into the world of classical music, with guest violinist, John Irrera.
Musical program includes:
Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 3
Pachelbel: Canon and Gigue in D major
Vivaldi: Concerto No. 4 in F minor, Op 8 “L’inverno” (winter)
Gershwin: Lullaby
Brahms: Symphony No. 3 in F Major
Mozart: Rondo in C for Violin and Orchestra
The concert is made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Marietta Performing Arts Center is located at 1171 Whitlock Avenue, adjacent to Marietta High School in Marietta. Tickets are $10.
