Georgia Trade School has announced the promotion of Scot McKneely to Vice President.
“This is a well-deserved promotion as Scot has been integral to the success of our organization for nine years,” Georgia Trade School Founder Ryan Blythe said. “With this promotion, Scot will not only continue to manage our recruiting efforts including quarterly job fairs and high school relations but will also expand his role into administrative leadership. We are excited to see what Scot brings to our industry and community partners as his talent and expertise align with our goal to remain one of the top welding programs in the nation”.
A GTS graduate, McKneely worked as a Pipe Welder in the Gulf Coast energy industry before joining the staff as an instructor in 2016. Subsequently, Scot earned his CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) and has served as an advisor to the construction technology program at the Cobb Innovation and Technology Academy (CITA) since its inception.
In addition to his work in the skilled trades, Scot served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps for ten years including two combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan where he received multiple medals, ribbons and citations.
