The Cobb Chamber is pleased to announce that one of its members, Georgia’s Own Credit Union, recently displayed its support for the Cobb community through a donation.
Georgia’s Own Credit Union presented former Major League Baseball player, Brian Jordan, with a check for $5,000 to the Brian Jordan Foundation at their Marietta branch location. The money will help purchase 400 books for inner city school kids for their Bats 4 Books program. In addition to Jordan, those present at the check presentation included Jeremy Cronemeyer, director of Membership Development at the Cobb Chamber; Michael Baumgartner, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Georgia’s Own Credit Union; Keisha Williams, member of the Board of Directors for the Brian Jordan Foundation; and Andrew Huber, Chairman of the Marietta Area Council of the Cobb Chamber.
“I am so grateful for the partnership BJF has with Georgia’s Own Credit Union and its members,” said founder, Brian Jordan. “Due to the generosity, we will be able to give away 400 children’s books to inner city kids so they can build their home library. Our Bats 4 Books Campaign emphasizes the importance of reading and empowers underprivileged children to reach their dreams through education.”
The Brian Jordan Foundation is dedicated to fostering the building of healthy minds and strong bodies. Founded in 1998 by accomplished Major League Baseball player, National Football League defensive-back, and entrepreneur, Brian Jordan, the organization’s goal is to provide supporting places for youth to grow.
