About Charlie’s Christmas Wish
Returning vet John Frost surprises his family with an early homecoming from Afghanistan following an incident in the barracks that caused PTSD. He finds his wife, Jill, too busy with her JILL’S CAKES AND BAKES to celebrate his return. His son, Jimmy, is busy with friends and soccer. John finds himself home alone with a scruffy little white angel dog, Charlie, who is on her own mission to steer him to his purpose. She chews his shoes, follows him everywhere and annoys him to no end.

When his PTSD is triggered by sirens, he scares Charlie into the path of oncoming traffic, leaving her near death, and John in the “dog house.” He retreats to his family home and then the Moose Lodge where he finds solace with other vets coping with the challenges of integrating into civilian life. He meets two kindred souls who are always there, willing to offer support and advice, until one day that Hank doesn’t show up. Charlie finds Hank face down in the midst of a heart attack and barks the alarm, summoning emergency help and saving his life. Charlie’s actions quickly change John’s mind about having the pesky little dog around.

As Hank leaves in the ambulance, John discovers that his comrades are actually homeless vets, living in tents behind the lodge. With renewed purpose in life, John enrolls Jill, Jimmy and the community to build a new house for the homeless vets.
The Veterans get their new home just in time for Christmas, and Charlie’s wish is granted as all of the families are reunited in time for Christmas Eve.
