It’s pretty obvious that the Chamber loves Cobb County’s public safety officials. We don’t just give them a day of appreciation, but an entire week! We were proud to kick off Public Safety Appreciation Week with a breakfast and awards ceremony honoring the nominees and winners of this year’s Public Safety Awards. Here are a few highlights:
Not only is Corporal Jordan an exemplary leader, he also has earned the distinction of having seized more methamphetamine on one single traffic stop than any officer in the history of the department.
Precinct II Evening Watch along with Lieutenant Chris Michael worked as a team to save the lives of a mother and her young, daughter. By demonstrating courage along with genuine care and concern they saved lives and brought the man responsible to justice.
Officer Homan is a strong leader and has always had a desire to help others and his community. He even volunteers his time and talent to teach first aid and CPR.
Detective Twiggs has been with the Cobb Police Department for 16 years, and has been the lead detective in over 27 murder investigations. He is thorough, professional and always the first one picked for the job.
Officer Bishop is so dedicated to his job he’s willing to put himself in harm’s way to save the lives of others. One evening he drove head on towards a wrong way driver on I-75. Luckily the driver stopped just shy of Officer Bishop’s patrol car, but his loyalty to his job and community safety deserves much recognition.
A huge congratulations to all of our 2015 Public Safety nominees and award recipients! How will you show your appreciation this week? Check out the Cobb Chamber’s website at http://www.cobbchamber.org/member-services/appreciation_week.aspx to see how you can get involved!
