In light of the recent wave of federal government layoffs and the evolving needs of today’s workforce, HR Knowledge Source (HRKS) proudly introduces Career Compass, a new HRKS Center of Excellence created to provide tailored support for recently laid-off federal workers, military personnel, and their spouses.
Led by Founder and CEO Sheree Knowles, HRKS is launching this timely initiative to help impacted individuals regain their footing, realign their goals, and successfully transition into their next career opportunity. “Career Compass is more than just a program—it’s a roadmap to recovery and resilience,” said Knowles. “We’re here to help people rebuild with confidence, clarity, and connection.”
Through Career Compass, participants are paired with Career Strategists who guide them through a comprehensive career coaching experience. This includes helping individuals shift their mindset, rebuild professional confidence, and set intentional goals. Career Strategists work closely with the individuals to develop tailored, high-impact resumes and professional LinkedIn profiles that reflect each candidate’s strengths and transferable capabilities.
In addition to individualized support, this new initiative delivers cohort-based virtual training sessions. This approach creates consistency, fosters engagement, and ensures participants receive both peer support and expert-led guidance throughout their journey. Career Compass will also offer personalized job sourcing support that connects candidates with career opportunities that align with their skill sets and aspirations.
Career Compass is HRKS’s commitment to meeting this critical moment with compassion, strategy, and action. By empowering individuals to take control of their futures, HRKS continues to drive its mission of transforming careers, communities, and lives.
