IAG Forensics & Valuation: Consistently Investigating and Solving Issues

This article is number 10 in a series of profiles of the Cobb Chamber’s 2016 Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year. Check back with Chamber Ink everyday in May for a new profile on a different Top 25 Business. We will wrap up the series on June 6 with the announcement of the 2016 Small Business of the Year.

Overview

IAG F&V_2014IAG Forensics & Valuation is a certified public accounting firm that specializes in forensic accounting, fraud investigation, business valuation and litigation support. IAG has a client base primarily composed of litigation attorneys who represent clients in matters involving white collar crime, business disputes, fraud, estate and trust accounting, accounting malpractice, bankruptcy, insurance claims and divorce. They also work with governmental organizations, businesses and non-profits in reconstructing and reconciling financial records, tracing financial transactions, investigating fraud and valuing businesses.

Their main business goal is to provide superior service at a reasonable cost, adding value to every case. This has resulted in significant growth through referrals from satisfied clients and attorneys. Quality growth requires constant focus on strategic training and development of their staff, effective use of technology, personal attention to their client’s needs and commitment to core values.

Although they’re a CPA firm, they do not provide traditional audit, tax or accounting services. Their work has been described as ‘CSI with numbers.’ Basically it’s like they’re putting together jigsaw puzzles; they dump all of the pieces out onto the table, turn them over, find the edges and corners and start filling in the picture. Their services are very personal and customized to each client’s unique situation. With a team of experienced partners, great ethics and dedication to clients, it’s very likely that this team will continue to grow year after year.

Facing Adversity

They’ve had their fair share of adversities. In one situation they discovered a client had deliberately provided inaccurate information to an expert witness. This resulted in erroneous conclusions by the expert and potential fraud upon the court. IAG immediately informed the attorney and resigned from the case. They may have lost fees in the matter, but to them it was more important to set the appropriate example for the younger staff. Demonstrating and maintaining their professional reputation and integrity is their highest priority.
