IgniteHQ, north Georgia’s premier business incubator and accelerator, is pleased to announce the opening of its new headquarters at 57 Waddell street in downtown Marietta, Georgia just off the historic Marietta Square on February 28, 2017.
“The new headquarters of IgniteHQ will not only serve as home to local entrepreneurs, but will play an integral role in bolstering both new and existing businesses in the region,” said IgniteHQ Executive Director Mark Hubbard. “Through our educational programs and mentorships and with support from our partners and sponsors, our members will truly thrive,” Hubbard said.
The exciting new facility designed by architectural firm Veenendaal Cave (VCave) and furnished by Corporate Environments features multiple workspaces, common areas intended for creative collaboration, large meeting and event rooms, moveable walls, a game room and a fully stocked dining area.
“Veenendaal Cave put our creativity into motion to design a collaborative workspace that builds a community and inspires innovation!” said VCave Design Team Director Lauren Tenpenny. “With attention to both form and function, this unique space provides a setting for ventures to grow and inventions to flourish; we’re thrilled to partner with IgniteHQ on such a transformative project,” Tenpenny said.
In partnership with Kennesaw State University (KSU) and in collaboration with the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, IgniteHQ is an outgrowth of the Chamber’s Competitive EDGE program. IgniteHQ supports Georgia’s entrepreneurial community by enabling the long-term success and growth of both new and early stage companies.
A combination of business accelerator and startup incubator, IgniteHQ provides entrepreneurs space to conduct their business and access to unique educational programming, mentoring, advisory services, and collaboration opportunities.
Mark Hubbard became IgniteHQ’s Executive Director in early February. Hubbard joined IgniteHQ from the Alpharetta Technology Commission where he launched and led the ATC Innovation Center and served as the Center’s CEO.
The property at 57 Waddell Street is leased by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia on behalf of Kennesaw State University (KSU). The overall management and maintenance of the property is the collaborative effort of KSU, Cobb County and IgniteHQ.
