Jaime Davis Joins FMG Atlanta Office

Products Liability attorney, Jaime Davis has joined Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP as Of Counsel in the firm’s Products and Liability group. Prior to joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, Ms. Davis worked at King & Spalding, an international law firm, where she defended clients including several leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, a domestic automotive manufacturer, a provider of dialysis services, and a Fortune 100 transportation company.  She was a member of the team serving as national coordinating counsel and trial counsel in nationwide product liability litigation involving an antidepressant.

Ms. Davis has experience in large scale, multi-district product liability litigation as well as individual actions. She graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she was the Senior Publication Editor of the Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. Ms. Davis received her undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University, graduating magna cum laude. Her first day at FMG was July 6.

Dana Maine Named Chair of Government Law Practice Section

Dana Maine, a partner with the national law firm of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, has been named Chair of the Firm’s Government Law Practice Section and will become a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Ms. Maine is a recognized national authority on first amendment issues involving land use, sign ordinances, and zoning, and also Section 1983 litigation involving  law enforcement and civil rights. She has represented cities, counties, school boards and other local government entities for over 20 years. She has been named “Lawyer of the Year” for Atlanta Municipal Law by Best Lawyers in America and also is a former Chair of  the Governmental Law Committee for the Defense Research Institute, the nation’s largest defense bar.  Most recently, she was part of FMG’s team in the recently decided United States Supreme Court case of Reed v. City of Gilbert.

Ms. Maine also will continue to lead the firm’s Miscellaneous Professional Liability practice group. She has defended attorneys, insurance agents, real estate agents, and others in a wide array of professional negligence matters. Ms. Maine is a member of the Board of Directors of the Professional Liability Attorney Network (PLAN), which is a national association of select law firms with significant professional liability practices.

Ms. Maine graduated from Agnes Scott College, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Ms. Maine received her law degree from Emory University.  She is a graduate of the Atlanta Regional Commissioner’s Leadership Institute, and she also is active in a number of other civic and professional organizations in metropolitan Atlanta. She is married with two children.
